There are a number of things you can do to improve the e-mails you send.
Include Contact Details in e-mails to Maximise Response.
It is a good idea to include your contact information at the bottom of your e-mails so people know how to contact you. This can be done using the signature facility in Outlook etc.
Often people will send an enquiry to perhaps 5 or more e-mails addresses and then receive a reply saying ‘Yes we have vacancies’ from address bedandbreakfast@myisp.co.uk with no other information. They then do not know who has replied as the e-mail address alone is not enough.
So always put full contact details at the bottom of your e-mails. It is also a handy way to advertise your website address.
Email Requirements for Larger Companies
If your business is a private or public limited company or a Limited Liability Partnership, the Companies Act 1985 requires all of your business emails (and your letterhead and order forms) to include the following details in legible characters:
- Your company registration number;
- Your place of registration (e.g. Scotland or England & Wales);
- Your registered office address
An example footer would be:
Company X is a limited company registered in England and Wales. Registered number: 88888888. Registered office: X House, 99 Any Street, Any Town, ZZ1 1AA.
Please note that this does not apply to sole traders or standard partnerships.
